Welcome to irCurt’s: New beginnings and change of life

I’ve had this domain since late 2012 and tried a lot of things with it. This month, I’m relaunching and shifting my focus to life as a senior and disabled person. As I mentioned on my About page, I’m retired, disabled, and struggling financially. I’ve got to do more, learn new things, and push through some of my resistance. Sighs

For a while, I got by doing odd jobs to cover what my SSI didn’t. It wasn’t much, but it helped. Earlier this November, I raked leaves for a really kind person. It was cold and damp—two things I don’t handle well. After 20 or 30 minutes, I had chest pains and had to stop. That was rough, and it made me realize I can’t rely on physical work anymore. We get older, and life changes whether we like it or not.

Since odd jobs aren’t working for me anymore, I’ve been stepping up my online efforts. Recently, after a short wait, I got approved for a survey site. There were a lot of election-related surveys, and I made about $120 in one month. December has been even better, and I’ve still got 10 days to go! This one site has paid me more in two months than all the other sites I’ve tried in the last three years combined.

Surveys are great, but they’re not enough. Microtasks don’t appeal to me much either, so I’ve started exploring other options. Affiliate marketing is one idea I’ve come back to. I’ve tried it before, but now I’ve got new tools to learn, like how to market on social media (which makes me anxious just thinking about it).

If you’re new to this, CPA stands for Cost Per Action or Acquisition. It’s like promoting a free trial for a subscription service—I send people to an advertiser’s offer, and if they sign up, I earn. CPI is similar but based on app installs, and CPC just pays for clicks. It’s something I’m learning about, and I’ll share more as I go.

I hope you’ll stick around to see where this journey takes me. Maybe we can figure this out together, share ideas, and make some extra cash along the way. Let’s connect and stay in touch—I’d love to hear from you.
